General Description - Rome March for Life
Support the pro-life movement in Italy by marching in the Marcia per la Vita in Rome. Join us for the beauty, drama and mystery of the traditional Latin liturgy; join us for expert lectures of special interest for Catholics attached to the ceremonies of the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite; join us for guided visits to sites of special spiritual and cultural interest; and join us for fine food and fellowship. Families with children welcome!
Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini was entrusted in 2008 to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter for the pastoral case of Catholics attached to the extraordinary form of the Roman rite. The church was built between 1587-1616 by the Archiconfraternità della S.ma Trinità dei Pellegrini, a pious fraternity founded in 1540 by S. Philip Neri which began receiving pilgrims in Rome for the 1550 Jubilee. Convenire Pilgrimages is proud to collaborate with the parish of S.ma Trinità dei Pellegrini to revive this ancient tradition.
Liturgy in Rome
S.sma Trinità is fortunate to enjoy a large number of both ordained and lay ministers and a professional choir, allowing the parish to celebrate Solemn High Mass on a weekly basis. During the pilgrimage we will attend Mass daily at Trinità dei Pellegrini.
Every morning of Holy Week from Monday to Friday there will be a guided visit to sites of religious and cultural interest. These include:
Afternoons will be free to allow pilgrims time to explore Rome independently.
The pilgrimage will include a variety of lectures on topics of interest to Catholics attached to the ceremonies of the extraordinary form. Topics to be covered include the history and development of the Roman rite (from Gregory diPippo, editor of the online journal New Liturgical Movement), the history and development of the Western liturgical musical tradition (speaker to be announced) and the situation of the pro-life movement in Europe and Italy (speaker to be announced).
A detailed itinerary is available here.
